I know that there is no need to post for this week, but I thought I would anyway. The last class for BEDUC 566, Education and Technology, was very interesting. One presenter showed how she was able to create a smart board with a Wii wand and an infrared pen. Total cost, around $50. Much better than the $2000 - $3000 the actual boards cost.
The next presenter is a PH.D. student in Astrobiology. I didn't even know a program existed. I've taken a couple of classes over the years, but a whole program is quite impressive. Had it existed 25 years ago, I might be doing something very different. Though the presentation seemed to have nothing to do with technology in education, it was an attempt to show interdisciplinary skills.
